Very early in the morning, these four goldfinches were perched on top of the feeder pole waiting for someone to put out their breakfast! It seems to be a family with Mom on the right, then a juvenile, then Dad, and then another young one on the left. The low sun rays from the early day light illuminated the group while keeping the background trees in darkness.

I was watching some noisy Magpies in a tree when I noticed this Canada goose standing behind me. As I turned round to take a picture of this beautiful bird it raised one leg and stretched out its wing to balance. This was a pose I couldn’t resist and the result is this print.

Here is a print featuring a photograph of a lovely Canada Goose swimming on the water. I took this photo in a peaceful little park in the suburbs of London in the fading evening light. It shows the bird swimming away, presumably ready to settle down for the night.

After a cat killed his mate a regular garden guest was nicknamed Lonely Pigeon. He pined for days, returning to the same fence where his mate met her fate and looking down at the feathers left behind. One day he met this beautiful bird and they have stuck close by eachother ever since. I managed to earn her trust over a number of weeks to get this close-up photo.

A digital watercolour painting of a Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) sitting on a cherry blossom tree. During courtship, male cardinals feed seeds to the female beak to beak. This painting was inspired by a pair of cardinals whom paid regular visits to the garden whilst I was in Arkansas during the summer of 2009.
