Conference of the Birds
Very early in the morning, these four goldfinches were perched on top of the feeder pole waiting for someone to put out their breakfast! It seems to be a family with Mom on the right, then a juvenile, then Dad, and then another young one on the left. The low sun rays from the early day light illuminated the group while keeping the background trees in darkness.

Goldfinch Easter Card by Bebops

More Easter Cards

This lovely little goldfinch just seemed to fit on an Easter card. They stay here in upstate New York all year round but change their colors with the season. In the winter, they are a drab olive brown. During spring they begin to turn a pale yellow. By summer, they are a brilliant yellow shining through the trees. As autumn turns to winter, the colors fade again.

More Cardinals Calendars

Enjoy this seasonal 2011 calendar with exquisite photography of twelve different northeastern birds. Included are a Northern Cardinal, Blue Jays, Canada Geese, a Red-bellied Woodpecker, a White-Throated Sparrow, an American Goldfinch, a Ruby-throated Hummingbird, a Common Grackle, a Tufted Titmouse, a Red-Breasted Nuthatch, a Black-capped Chickadee and a pair of Redpolls. All photographs were taken near my home in the hills of rural New York.
