I have so many Collared Doves visiting my garden and this one is sitting on the fence sunning itself. Far from being the birds of peace these feisty feathered friends are quick to attack each other to get prime position on the bird table. I took this photo for this mousepad from the back door of my house.

After a cat killed his mate a regular garden guest was nicknamed Lonely Pigeon. He pined for days, returning to the same fence where his mate met her fate and looking down at the feathers left behind. One day he met this beautiful bird and they have stuck close by eachother ever since. I managed to earn her trust over a number of weeks to get this close-up photo.
