Chickadee Magnet by Bebops

Chickadee Magnet by Bebops
See other Black capped chickadee Magnets

This magnet features the black-capped chickadee, one of the friendliest and most common birds in my part of upstate New York. The flock lives here all year round and are quite tame. They follow me around and eat walnut bits out of my hand. They have two wonderful songs: "chicka-dee-dee-dee" and a simple 2 note whistle that starts with a high whistle and ends with a low whistle, sometimes described as "hey sweetie" or "fee bee".

Two baby Canadian Geese sit side by side on a grassy area near a small lake. These goslings can't yet fly, and they have very soft, fuzzy down feathers rather than the colors they will show as adults.

This fine Emu poses for a portrait, showing off its beady brown eyes, pointed dangerous beak, and tufts of wispy feathers on its balding head. Photographed at the local Zoo, these birds are flightless and make a noise that resembles the beat of a drum.
