These birds are painted homing pigeons, which are painted different colours by the owners so that they can identify them in flight. This is a local tradition in Spain and the owners assure me that the paint does the birds no harm!

This particular photograph was a bit of a fluke really as my wife and I were on the local mountainside (more of a large hill really!) when the birds flew overhead. They looked so pretty in flight. I think they look beautiful with the sea in the background.

This cute little Pigeon looks as though it is having a sleep on the grass. In actual fact this bird is pecking around for seeds that fell off the bird table. It closed its eyes as it lowered its head and luckily I had a camera handy to catch the moment.
You could use this binder to file all your birding observations, drawings, photos etc.

This mousepad features a photograph of a wild Pigeon taken in my back garden. The bird was pecking about in the grass looking for seed that had been knocked off a bird feeder. The iridescence of the feathers is clearly visible in the photo.
