A sweet tiny little mallard chick running around in the grass on the edge of a large lake with it's 11 brothers and sisters. Amazing how fast these little guys go.
I couldn't resist this shot of a mother duck interacting with her duckling. It looks such a tender moment. This mother really had her work cut out as she had a dozen ducklings to look after and my word they really move fast in the water. I hope they all survived.
Two young Mallard ducklings nuzzle eachother affectionately. Their reflections and lilypads are seen on the water surface of a shallow community pond. These wild birds are the most recognizeable and well known breed of duck, with chicks hatching from late April to late May. After about two months, ducklings usually have full-grown feathers and are already flying.
