Stretching Swallow #springwatch

This was taken at Kidwelly Quay. There is a very large colony of swifts there in the summer months and I'm always amazed at how fast they fly, especially when they go to the young in the nearby disused sheds as the speed at which they fly into these buildings makes you wonder how they can possibly stop in time. I'd seen this swallow perch on the branch and as I was a little too far from it I wondered how close I could bet before it waw me. So, using the old building as cover I made closer and managed to get three shots before it took off.
